FOR THOSE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE STORY read below and watch the tv interview on the post below
A couple of years ago i left the fast paced world of fashion photography in new york city and took an entire year off to backpack and mountain climb on all seven continents (yes that includes camping in antarctica) It was an amazing experience and upon returning i decided to share that experience through an exhibition and a limited edition book containing journal entries and images from my year of adventure. here is an excerpt from ISOLATION REVEALED
I see now.
My muse is before me.
The silent seduction of the landscape is deafening. Are others truly unable to hear this roar that has welled up within me? I am alone as I climb; the melody of the wind slipping through the trees fights for my attention then quickly fades away as a perfect composition of light and form materializes suddenly, unexpectedly. Above me the smooth, polished flank of the face juts into the deep, black-blue sky boldly exposing her swelling lines to the boulders below that have fallen on her behalf. One by one the forces of nature have sculpted her delicate form, the memories of millennia forgotten, only this moment survives. I am a lone voyeur. I realize that, selfishly, I will keep this for myself, sharing this embodiment of my muse with no other. Quietly, I turn, recognizing a love that will never be chased. I smile to myself and pursue the companionship of the gurgling stream beside me on its journey toward the oceans so far away.
