call time was early for a morning trip out to wellington florida, the winter horse capital of the world. We were shooting Rodrigo Pessoa, equestrian olympic gold medalist. The shoot was for Vicomte-Arthur, a Parisian based high-end sportswear company www.vicomte-arthur.com. The concept for the shoot was to show Rodrigo wearing the Vicomte brand in various scenerios involving his day to day interaction with the horses. We had a couple of hours to shoot, since this is the height of the season for Rodrigo, so Bertrand (V-A co-founder and todays art director) and i did a walk through selecting 4 areas and scenerios to shoot. The sky was perfect with the early morning florida sun screaming in through the barn windows, creating an amazing view of the tack and stables. We chose to shoot the remaining 3 images outside utilizing the sun as a main, and reflected light for fill. As you can see from the images the shoot day went flawlessly thanks to the hard work of our studio manager – Amy, and assistant/behind the scenes videographer – Brock. in my next post i will discuss the lighting for those that are interested in what we did and how we did it.
